NSS in GEC

A golden wing of NSS unit was started during July, 2010 with a motive of education along with community service and community service through education. Since the inception of this unit, several service programs like Massive Plantation, Meditation Program, Clean and Green program, VIDYA YAGNA (donation of books), Blood Donation campaign, Chlorination, Disaster Management, Awareness on School Dropouts, Health Awareness and Free Medical Check up are conducted for grooming the students as productive and socially responsive citizens. Activities of the NSS Unit are as follows:

The commitment and hard work of the heads of the departments, faculty team, administrative officers and non-teaching staff who tirelessly work to take this institution to greater heights and in sustaining the Quality and Mission of this institution is highly appreciable. The support from students and valuable suggestions from the parents helped us to march towards success.

NSS CAMP 27/1/2014 to 02/02/2014

As a part of social service programme, NSS CAMP has been successfully organized by Guntur Engineering College SOCIAL SERVICE WING

On 27th January 2014, NSS camp was organized by college NSS Team in Yanamadala, A 7days program was conducted by students and staff, On the first day college Chairman Sri M. Naraharirao and Principal Sri B.Bramaiah were started the program. Each day a special event conducted by students under the supervision of MR P.Naranedra College NSS Incharge.

HIV - AIDS Awareness Programme 06/02/2009

The Program consultant of APSACS, Vijayawada Sri M.ABRAHAM actively participated in the meeting and explained well about the importance of HIV AIDS awareness to the students of GEC. Over 220 students participated in this programme and about 100 students immediately came forward to register their names as membership in RED RIBBION association.

The college Principal Dr.K.L.NARAYANA presided over the meeting and all the faculty members were also present.

YUVATARANG 2009 28/01/2009 to 31/01/2009

As per the orders of ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA & TAHSILDAR, Prattipadu Mandal, GUNTUR ENGINEERING COLLEGE organized a FOUR day YUVATARANG 2009 drive from 28/01/2009 to 31/01/2009 in the college premises.

The objective of this programme is to enroll the students who had crossed 18 years of age as on 01/01/2009 in the ELECTORAL ROLL. In this special drive, the eligible students are required to enroll themselves in the electoral roll by filling FORM 6, FORM 1D & Declaration Form (supplied by Election Commission of India). Students who had already enrolled are required to submit a declaration (form supplied by Election Commission of India) to that extent.

A total of 103 students from diverse disciplines had participated in this special drive, of which 66 students had newly enrolled their names as voters by filling FORMS 6, 1D and Declaration & 37 students had signed in the declaration form stating that they were already enrolled. These forms are attested by the Head of the institution and submitted in the Office of Electoral Registration Officer, Prattipadu Mandal.

College Chairman Sri M.NARA HARI RAO inaugurated the drive and spoke about the importance of RIGHT TO VOTE. Dr.K.L.Narayana, Principal of the college explained the procedure of enrolling and supervised the programme. Faculty members Sri R.BALA BHASKAR, Sri T.CHANDRA SEKHAR & Sri K.PAVAN KUMAR guided the students in filling the respective forms.

BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN 28/11/2008

As a part of social service programme, BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN has been successfully organized by Guntur Engineering College SOCIAL SERVICE WING in association with Red Cross Blood Bank, Guntur.

On 28th November 2008, the Red Cross Blood Bank, Guntur visited Guntur Engineering College campus and conducted blood donation campaign. The Chairman, Sri M.Nara Hari Rao, the Principal, Dr.K.L.Narayana, the faculty, staff and students actively participated in this programme. The principal, Dr.K.L.Narayana, Sri. M.Srinivas, HOD CSE, Sri G.L.Narayana & Sri M.Kedar Mallik, the Coordinators GEC Social Service wing, the staff and students voluntarily came forward and donated their precious blood with immense pleasure. The Chairman and the principal addressed all the participants stating firmly on the significance of the donation of blood to the needy and the poor. Assured that many such social service activities beneficial for the society will be organized in college in the days to come. The administrator, Sri G.Y.N.Babu and Dr.Y.Prabhavathi, the Medical Officer of Red Cross Blood Bank appreciated the management, principal and the coordinators of GEC social service wing for their cooperation and keen interest in organizing the camp and thanked them for providing all the necessary arrangements for smooth conduction. The campaign has been well ended with delight.
